Two legends of rock 'n' roll join forces for a 32-date U.K. Tour when Gary joins Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. Wyman was bassist for the Rolling Stones for over 30 years.
The story goes that one night a couple of Jersey musicians by the name of Springsteen and Van Zandt wandered into an oldies gig at a rundown bar in 1980. Onstage was one Gary Anderson, who had racked up quite a few top ten hits in the 60’s under the name Gary U.S. Bonds, but had pretty much been written off in a music business climate that had no mercy for anyone over the age of 28 years old.
American R&B Blues music legend Gary U.S. Bonds is to join Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings as a Special Guest on the 2009 UK tour, starting October 28 and running until December 6. Hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as a singer "with a unique and expressive voice", Gary is an honouree of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation, and was nominated for the Country Music Association's Songwriter of the Year.
